This is going to be a pretty short post since it's based on my previous work.

Whenever I finish a project that leads to multiple versions, I often find myself wanting to keep exploring new variations. That’s exactly what happened with Warpaint Visions. I set out to create more versions, but instead of just being alternate takes on the same piece, the results felt like entirely new works—distinct and independent, even though they shared the same foundation.

I started by adding a couple of new textures on top of what I had already done. One was a makeshift blue gradient (which I got by cropping a piece of sky from a photograph and resizing it), and the other was a red wall texture that I use a lot in my projects.

From there, I mainly worked with blending modes that affect luminance and hue, layering them in different ways. And as I experimented, something completely new started to take shape—something separate from the original piece. The result had its own emotions, its own atmosphere, sitting somewhere between expressionism and abstraction, with a color palette that kept shifting as I adjusted the layers.

Originally, I thought of calling this series Warpaint Visions Variations, but it quickly became clear that it had outgrown that label. It wasn’t just an extension of the original—it had its own identity. So, it deserved a name of its own: Textured Self.
