I've been absent this week due to a massive cold that still hasn't fully gone away, although I've managed to do some things, let's say, in the background, and in "power-saving" mode. That's why today's post will be rather brief.
I continue exploring the possibilities of the material captured in the countryside, and one of the photos I liked the most was a very casual one taken with my phone when I first started exploring the area I visited.
I like the natural movement of that shadow, and I decided it would be my starting point. The photo was taken around noon on a beautiful sunny day, but my intentions for it were a bit darker. I wanted that shadow to be part of a haunting, gloomy scene. For this, I used two of the textures captured on that trip that I hadn't used yet: a soot-stained wall, a rusted and cracked zinc sheet, and a decomposed, peeling tree bark.

The interaction of the layers almost immediately began to produce the results I had in mind, and with the help of a couple more textures for the composition, and some of my favorite color textures, I completed this piece, titled "Sinister Walk."
