For this project, I decided to take a completely different direction from my usual work. To start, I scanned several sheets of square colored paper, arranging them randomly on the scanner. I captured a few scans rearranging the papers differently each time.
Once in my editing software, I loaded the scanned materials as layers, duplicating and blending them with each other, as well as with other textures from my collection

I was happy with all the results, but one in particular stood out to me.

After finding the perfect combination, the first phase of the project was complete. I took a few days to reflect and consider whether that would truly be the foundation for the rest of the work, revisiting some of the options I had discarded earlier.
In the end, I decided that my initial choice was still the one I liked the most, so I moved on to the second part of the project, which involved some hands-on work and a lot of fun, reminding me of my primary school days. I grabbed an old fashion magazine from the early 80s and, selecting the most colorful pages, I cut them into scraps and randomly arranged them on the floor, covering an area slightly larger than an A4 sheet. I took a photo, then rearranged the scraps to create another option. I paid special attention to a scrap featuring a pair of eyes with a captivating gaze, as I wanted them to be the focal point.

After loading both photos into the project, it didn’t take long to come up with several variations for the final piece, each with a different color palette, making it impossible for me to choose just one.
