Echoes In Color
From the silence of a wavebreaker, colors are born.

I was away from the blog for a few days because I was invited by friends to spend a long weekend in the countryside. While there, I took the opportunity to hunt for new textures. I’ll be compiling the best ones to release in a new pack, and as usual, I’ll reserve some to give away as free downloads.
So, let's get back to work.
As I mentioned on my social media, last month I visited a friend's recording studio to record a feature for another musician's new album. I noticed they were installing new wavebreakers on the studio walls. Unlike the previous prefabricated panels, these were handcrafted. I really liked the visual experience they offered and the warmth they brought to the studio. As a texture addict, I couldn’t resist taking a photo to use in a new project:
The photo inspired me to create an abstract and colorful piece. I started with a color grid created in Krita that I had used in a previous project.
Next, I added textures from various materials, like moss, concrete, and rusty metal, among others. I mainly used the Subtract, Grain Merge, and Darken Only modes, adjusting the opacity of each layer as needed.

I quickly achieved a result that matched my vision and thought the work could have multiple versions. To do this, I topped the layer stack with some textures of walls in different colors.
